The 26th meeting of the industrial working group "Research and Technology" took place on August 26, 2020 as an online event. "Additive manufacturing" is already established in many areas of industry, especially when plastics or metallic materials are used. In glass production or the further processing of basic glass products, the processes are still in their infancy.
Actively shaping standardization
Standardization for glass machinery is done in the standardization committees NA 060-13-13 for flat glass and NA 060-13-18 for hollow glass. They support the market position of companies in the industry.

German Glass Machinery and Plant Industry
The 60 small and medium-sized companies of the German glass machinery and plant industry which are members of VDMA achieve an annual turnover of 850 Mio Euros (2012). Two thirds of this can be attributed to exports. The industry employs about 5,000 people. At VDMA, 150 companies are dealing with the topic of glass in one way or the other.
